Jüri Järvet (born as Georgi Kuznetsov) was a highly prolific and respected Estonian screen and stage actor. He was born in Tallinn. His mother moved to Moscow in 1920. Jüri stayed to live in family's friend who later gave him into an orphanage. At the age of five he was taken into a family with three children though his new parents didn't adopt him officially. In 1936 he changed his birth name to Jüri Järvet.
Jüri got his first acting experience in the fourth grade were he had a non speaking part in school play. His next role came in sixth grade. He also appeared in five real theatre plays at his school years but he was replaced when he turned sixteen thus making him too old for the parts. After high school he worked as a messenger in factory's office.
In 1941 during the Soviet occupation in Estonia, he was drafted into Soviet Red Army but was later demobilized. After war Jüri worked as a dancer in Noorsooteater but he felt that dancing isn't something he would like to do so in 1944 he started to study acting and in 1945 he got his first role. Beside his studies he also did editorial work in radio.
His most famous film roles came in 1970s as made title role in Grigoriy Kozintsev's powerful King Lear (1970) (King Lear). In 1972 he played Dr. Snaut in Andrei Tarkovsky's Solaris (1972) and in 1979 he played the owner of the hotel in Grigori Kromanov's cult film _'Hukkunud Alpinisti' hotell (1979)_ (The Dead Mountaineer Hotel).
Jüri Järvet was married twice. In 1948-1958 he was married with actress Inna Taarna. In 1955 their first son Jüri Järvet Jr. was born. In 1958 he married with oncologist Astrid. Couple had daughter Jana in 1960. Jüri died on July 5th 1995 in Tallinn.- Actor

Silvi Vrait is a Soviet and Estonian singer.
Born in Kehra in 1951, Vrait graduated from the Kehra Music School in 1968 on piano. In 1974 she graduated from the Tartu University with a degree in English philology. From 1994, she taught English in a secondary school in Tallinn. Vrait coached vocalists at the Georg Ots Music School in Tallinn.
Silvi Vrait first appeared on stage in 1972, when she performed in a TV shows 'Kaks takti ette' and 'Käokava'. From 1976 to 1983 she was active in theatre Vanemuine in Tartu. Her style varies from jazz to country and from rock to folk. In the late 1980s, she was known for two recordings, "Väikene rahvas, väikene maa" (Small Nation, Tiny Country) and "Ei ole üksi ükski maa" (No Land is Alone).
She appeared in musicals and operas, such as Porgy and Bess (Bess, 1985), The King and I (Lady Thiang, 1998), Zorba (Leader, 2000), Gypsy (Rose, 2001), Chicago (Mama Morton, 2004) and The Sound of Music (Mother Abbess, 2010), Cabaret (Fräulein Schneider, 2012).
In 1994, Vrait was the representative of Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest, held in Dublin that year. Lipso was born in Tallin, Soviet Union. As a child, he was fond of many sports at the same time: Swimming, athletics, tennis, and horseback riding. Participated in numerous competitions and won prizes. At the age of 16, he began attending basketball training, eventually choosing this particular game.
In SKA (Riga) Lipso won his first medal of the USSR championship in 1961, but stayed there for a short time, soon moving to Moscow. In 1962-1969 he was a player of BC CSKA (Moscow). In 1963, he made his debut as part of the USSR national team at the European Championships in Wroclaw, Poland, where he became the champion. In the same year, as part of the Moscow men's team, he became the winner of the Spartakiad of the Peoples of the USSR. In 1966 he was recognized as the best center of the USSR. In 1967 he became the winner of the European Championship and the World Championship.
Lipso was distinguished by special plasticity, beauty of movement. Spectators specially went to see him.
In 1989-1994 he worked in Tallin as the director of the sports hall "Kalev". Mikhail Dorovatovskiy is a Soviet and Estonian cinematographer, documentary director. Honored Artist of the Estonian SSR.
Born in Leningrad into a family of employees. Since 1943 Dorovatovskiy served in the Red Army, sergeant, participant in the Great Patriotic War. Demobilized in 1945.
After the war, Mikhail studied at the Leningrad Film Technical School (now the St. Petersburg Institute of Film and Television), from which he graduated in 1950. Having started working at the Tallin Film Studio as a sound engineer, he participated in the filming of the feature film Sovetskaya Estoniya (1946) as an assistant to cameraman Vladimir Parvel.
He is the author and cinematographer of many documentaries, as well as stories for film periodicals. His debut in feature films took place in 1962 in the film Õhtust hommikuni (1962). As a cinematographer he made a significant contribution to Estonian feature cinematography. Since the end of 1970, he also made popular science films and was a support for the younger generation of filmmakers in the Estonian SSR.- Cinematographer
